Product Information
Free radicals are produced as a normal consequence of biochemical processes in the body and as a result of increased exposure to environmental and/or dietary xenobiotics. Although free radicals can cause damage to the body, at the same time they can be beneficial components of the immune response, hepatic cytochrome p450-mediated detoxification, and regulation of smooth muscle tone. An imbalance in the pro-oxidant versus antioxidant processes (oxidative stress) is thought to contribute to ill health.

Small Animal Antioxidant was designed to provide a broad-spectrum nutrient and botanical antioxidant formula. While antioxidants have broad activity within the cells or cell membranes of the body, certain antioxidant nutrients and botanicals appear to have a particular affinity for certain bodily tissues. The following chart represents a generalized approach to identifying tissue specificity, although it is not an exhaustive list of organs or tissues that can benefit from a particular nutrient or botanical.

Mixed Carotenoids (1,800 IU.) 11.25 mg.

Dosage:

Suggested Use:

Cats (all): One half capsule daily; as needed.

Dogs (to 50 lbs): Two capsules daily; as needed.

Dogs (50-100 lbs): Four capsules daily; as needed.

Dogs (+100 lbs): Two capsules daily for each 50 lbs; as needed.

Recommended as an antioxidant for small animals.

WARNINGS:

For use in dogs and cats only.

Safe use in pregnant animals or animals intended for breeding has not been proven. If animal's condition worsens or does not improve, stop product administration and consult your veterinarian. Toxic to cats above 13 mg/kg body weight. In cats, alpha lipoic acid is hepatotoxic. Not for use with anticoagulants. Not recommended for long-term use.
